Has anyone ever purchased the dvd from photopass before? Is it really worth the money?

I pre-ordered ours for our May 08 trip. We just got back and Im playing with the photos adding boarders and doing black and white photos. Once I do that I will order the DVD and let you know how it came in.

The PhotoPass CD and PhotoMovie DVD are two different things...

The CD will contain the pictures that were taken while the DVD is a service that they offer where a DVD movie is created from the pictures and contains other stock footage from the parks and the resort of your choice. It is about 25 mins or so long at most and does NOT include access to the original pictures.

Is the PhotoMovie DVD worth it? Personally, I dont think so. It is very expensive for 20 some minutes of a slide show.

Is the PhotoPass CD worth it? Yes, if you think that you have enough pictures that will make it worth it. If you only have a couple that are "keepers" then, no. If you have more than 7 or 8 that you will want to have printed out from the finisher of your choice, then it is a good deal.

From my recent trip, I spent a lot of time editing my pictures as well as uploading my personal ones, adding Disney touches. I cant wait to get it back. I did the pre-order thing as well, saving a good chunk.

I pre-purchase the PhotoPass CD before our trip in March. Unlimited pictures for 99 buck. Even though we probably didn't get as many picture taken as we should have, I still think it was well worth the price.

I got the photopass CD. We had 172 picture taken in the park. By the time I ordered the CD, I had 600 pictures. But the next time I go, I am pre-ordering the cd. THEN I will upload pictures and go from there. I think it is worth it.

I'm pretty excited about the one I've pre-ordered. There's only two of us traveling - and, as much as I dearly love my son, I would like to see pictures of the two of us together. When I have had pictures taken by the photographers - i end up buying all of them. I figure it this way: I'm going to buy them and this way I won't avoid the photogs. I'll actually hunt them down! So...assume 2 pictures at 4 parks...that's about $120. Or...for less than $100 - get as many as humanly possible! Even if I only get a few - they've already paid for themselves. (at least that's my warped logic!):geek:

Oh no, it totally makes since to me! You are right - with 2 photos per park, you are actually saving money by pre-ordering the CD! It only costs me something like $.50 to get a 5x7 printed at Costco. We end up limiting ourselves and avoiding the photographers otherwise - knowing that if we actually like the photo, we'll want it and have to pay too much for it! I plan on pre-ordering a CD. There's going to be five of us - my inlaws and us. I'm sure they'll want photos of just the two of them, we'll want some of the three of us and then we'll all want group photos. Right there, that's at least three different poses with Mickey. I'm saving money already! :)

And as long as you get at least two photo pass cards and before you actually order the cd, I think you can put the two cards together. That way you can order one cd for both "families" and share the cost. Or whatever. I think that makes sense. I know what I am trying to say, just not sure I said it right.

My dad and I both got a photo pass card so when we weren't together, we could get pictures of whoever was with us. Then before we bought the CD we were able to put both numbers in the photo pass site to combine the pictures to order the cd.

You CAN combine more than one photopass card into one photopass account, but a CD can be created only with pictures from one account. You don't HAVE to have multiple photopass cards, though, if you're always all together and never forget your card.

I know what you mean. :) I've told them about this and also told them to copy down their photopass numbers on their phone, a notebook, whatever - just as long as we have back-ups so I can combine them later on one account. Six days at the parks - I'm sure it will be worth it.

THAT's what I was trying to say! Thanks Cathy!

Very good idea of having them write down the number UsBurchs! I hope you have a wonderful time!

If you have more then one card for when you split up , only use one of them when you get group shots done. We did not realize they would not separate out duplicates and triplicates. We had three cards on our trip in October and ended up with tons of pictures but about half were doubles and triples.I think the CD is definitely worth it. We ended up with over 600 pictures on the CD. Our theory was if we paid $50 (gf and I split the $100) we were going to more then get our monies worth and had our picture taken at almost every Photog we saw! At each spot we had- a group shot, kids only, gf& her bf, DH and I & DH, Kids & I. We also did the MNSHP and had our pics done at all the special spots they had.

While a very true statement, the good news is that if you loose a card, you at least have them on another card. Its free and if you happen to get more pictures than what a single CD will hold, it will just span over onto a second CD. (But that would take a LOT of pictures. :) )

True. I always take a picture of the back of the cards with my own camera just in case.

I have two CD's from the October trip...with over 600 photos on them! :)

Can someone provide the link as to where to pre-order the CD's from? I could not find it on the photopass website. Thanks :-)

Does any one know if the photo ops for character dinning can be put on the photopass?

If you are referring to the ones where they come to you with the pre-printed package of pictures, then I dont think so. Unless things have changed, I tried doing so but was told that was option not available.

Gusman,
At Ohana we purchased the picture package and we were given a code to take to the Picture Desk on the same floor by the Momorail entry and they were able to add them to Photopass. It was just the family picture they take before you are seated. This was the only one we purchased, so I am not sure about other location.

Thats good to know. Thanks for the info!

Do you know if purchase of the package was necessary to get the code to add it to your photopass?

I would say yes only because she did not mention or offer it until after we paid for our package, and she brought back my receipt. But it would not hurt to ask.

When I went to the PhotoPass station to get the picture on my card, the CM had trouble pulling it up with the code. He ended up looking through all the pictures taken, and found ours visually by looking for me. One would guess, you could go over there right after you finish eating and try to have them do this without purchasing the package or even asking for the code. Hope this helps.

Do they take these pictures ya'll are talking about at the Liberty Tree Character meal?

At disneyland...way back...in the 1990's! - they would take a picture of you (and your party) as you entered the restaurant. This was the only picture taken. It sounds like theirs an entire series of pics taken at Ohana.

Can someone explain the process to me???
Thanks!
