Any ideas? We have 2 days for this park but must be finished by 3pm on day 2. Anyone done this and have any good plans? Ideally we would like to do everything except Conservation Station.

While not a complete answer, I would hit the major shows and attractions such as Kilimanjaro Safari's, Nemo the Musical, Expedition Everest, Kali, and Lion King on the first day, then start hitting some of the other attractions after that. Use the second day to hit what you did not before or want to do again and possibly do some shopping.

Another tip is to try to plan out your route as well. AK is very spread out so if you are able to save time by planning how you will get from point A to point B, you could get more in.

To disagree somewhat with GusMan, I would probably split the two major shows (Nemo and Lion King) over two different days. That will allow you to limit the amount of back and forth hustle you might have to do to get to Nemo and Lion King in the same day. The shows can be scheduled close together, and you will want to arrive with enough time to line up if it is a busy time of year. Nemo has a large capacity and you can pretty much see from everywhere in the theater, but there are some places that are better than others.

I have to say that I'd be hard pressed to fill 2 full days at DAK, as much as I enjoy the park. I usually hit the big attractions, maybe Tough To Be A Bug, the Nemo musical, and then it's lunchtime. After lunch I'll get soaked on Kali, and that's about it. And that includes 3 or 4 rides on Everest early in the day. I guess I could fill up the afternoon with the bird and Lion King shows, but after that it would just be repeating.

We did AK over two days this last trip because they were half days. It was nice to sleep in. LOL.

I would say to make sure you see Nemo, I though it was really cute. Do fast passes when you can. Tucker House was a good place to have dinner. We didn't have reservations, but at 4:20 walked up and have a 5-10 min wait. It was great, I was suprised since it was Memorial Day.

If you want photos with Mickey, Minnie, Goffy and or Donald, go to Camp Mickey and Minnie, we went about 40 mins before closing and only got photos with three of them. Should have gone sooner.

There are two attractions where people run first thing in the morning to get FastPasses. Safari and Expedition Everest. Do one of those on each day.

Use this site for scheduling your shows - http://pages.prodigy.net/stevesoares/ I'd do Nemo one day and Lion King the other day as those get fairly filled up fast. Flights of Wonder (in my opinion) is a not to be missed show but you don't have to stand in line for it and it lasts 20 minutes so your investment of time would be 30 minutes tops. You can do that either day.

You might want to look at doing the things in Dinoland on the day you do Nemo since you'll be on that side of the park.

I haven't seen It's Tough to be a Bug have a line longer than ten minutes for a while so you can fit that one in whenever.

Dinosaur and Kali River Rapids are FastPasses so you will have to adjust for them while you are there and see the times.

The only other things that would be left are the two jungle treks. You can easily do the one in Africa right after you get off the Safari. You can easily do the one in Asia as soon as you get off Kali River Rapids. Or switch the order depending on FastPass times.

Personally, we avoided Conservation Station for years but finally did it a few months ago. Now we're kicking ourselves for not doing it sooner. We really enjoyed it.

Tucker House was a good place to have dinner.

That would be Tusker House. I haven't had dinner there, but they do a mean breakfast buffet!

Thanks, that's helpful. We have been to Conservation Station before and while the children would love it we will not get away once we get in and this is what stopped us doing lots of other things at the park last year - essentially they like the petting zoo bit which I can get 5 miles down the road from home!

How does this sound?

DAY 1

Collect EE fast pass
Boys - primeval hurl
Girls - triceratops spin
Dinosaur
Kali River Rapids
Flights of Wonder
Mahraja Jungle Trek
Everest with F/Pass
Collect TTBAB F/pass
Lunch ADR Tusker House, 1pm
Pocahontas 2.40pm
Tough to be a Bug with F/Pass
Mickey's Jammin Jungle Parade 4pm
Depart

DAY 2

Kilimanjaro Safaris
Pangani Forest Trail
Lion King
Bone Yard (we WILL be stuck here ages)....
Lunch, no ADR
Then CS if children insist
Nemo

Scooby, that seems like a real good plan. I think you balanced it out decently.

Sounds like a good plan. The only thing I will mention is that Flights of Wonder is usually done on the hour. For your planning purposes.

And I am very glad to hear that Conservation Station was a hit with you. I thought maybe you were avoiding it like we did.

PS - we saved the Boneyard for the very last thing and then used the "we have to leave NOW" excuse. Otherwise, I think our granddaughter would still be there.

Sounds like a great plan.

My only advice would be to think twice about Kali River Rapids in the middle of your day. We only ride it on out way out of the park- I hate walking around in wet underwear all day (TMI I know).

Of course if it doesn't bother you than ignore me. ;)

I agree. As I mentioned, I do Kali as the last thing before heading back to the hotel for the afternoon. Nothing like soggy britches to slow down your day!

Plan - attractive blue bin liners with a whole cut for the head and 2 more for the arms :D

One thing you should know - if you stay until parking closing all of the big rides (Everest, Dinosaur, etc.) had virtually no lines the last hour or two the park is open. Most people finish by 3 or 4 and leave the park I think. This is especially good for any favorite rides that you want to do repeats on. I have to agree about Kali - I would never do it unless it is hot and the last ride of the day and you are going directly back to the hotel.

haha i used to work at Flights and they always go on the hour or half hour (unless they've changed) . . .usually like 10:30, 11:30, 1, 2, 3 or something like that. If there is rain some of the birds won't fly (can't ) so keep that in mind. . . they tend to be best for the 10:30, 11:30 and 1pm but there is no guarentee. .. . (there are 3 groups of animals so thats everyone's first show of the day. . . ) so my usual favorite is like the 11:30 when everyone else is at lunch. :)

Clearly eveyone's agenda is going to be different and everyone's priorities will be different. To me, animal kingdom is about the animals, but my hubby loves the rides, so to compromise this is what we do . .

On the way in grab a fast pass to expedition everest. . . go do Kilaminjaro and then the asian hiking trail (i don't care what anyone there tells you, i've been in zoo keeping since i was 16, animals are best first thing in the morning and as the day wears on they will be less active and more likely to be hidden. . . disney has done a great job at lessening this (ac rocks for the lions, multiple meals, etc) but its stlll the way things are). .. then i'd do the fast pass (if its up) or do kali. . . . and see flights, eat over at tusker and looka round at the asia and africa shops.

second day i'd do discovery island, dino usa and camp mini mickey, you'll find the lion king there (and pocahontas if she's still goiing) and i'm not sure where nemo is, there are some rides for kids, and the train ride to discovery island where yhou can do some hands on stuff. . .and perhaps ride something again like expedition :)

but thats just my humble opinion :)

It has been my experience that it is not too difficult to tour Animal Kingdom in one day especially if it is an evening Extra Magic Hours.
