1. PHOTO CONTEST

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. As World Ocean Day
approaches, we're wondering: Have you taken a photo that tells the
story of how oceans inspire you?

If so, we hope you'll share your photo--and the inspiration--by
entering our second World Ocean Day Photo Contest.

The first-place photo will be featured on our website and in Sea Notes--
where you can inspire thousands of people to care about protecting our
oceans for future generations.

Just submit your most inspirational photo--one that stirs feelings of
wonder, fascination and hope for the future of the oceans--by midnight
on Sunday, June 1. It doesn't matter whether it's a snapshot from last
Sunday's visit to the beach, or a dramatic photo from years ago.
(Only one photo per person, though!)

We'll announce the winners on Friday, June 6--in time for our World
Ocean Day weekend celebration.

Last year, more than 400 ocean lovers participated in our first contest.
Please join the fun this year and share your photo with the world.

It might be the picture that makes all the difference.

2. WORLD OCEAN DAY CELEBRATION

Calling all nature lovers! On June 7 and 8, our "World Ocean Day Celebration" shines the
spotlight on the habitats that cover about 70 percent of our planet.
Special activities include presentations by Sherman's Lagoon
cartoonist Jim Toomey. Don't miss the fun!
