I just booked a room only through AAA for 157.25/night for October. I asked for a standard view but was told there weren't any available and had to go with a water view. Is this a good rate? Are there usually any specials that come along to get a discount during that time of year? Thanks!

Can you tell us where you are staying?
If you want to see if it is a good rate, go to Disney's web site and try to reserve a room for the same time period. Then you can compare that way as well.

It depends if you are traveling in the value, regular or high season.Your rate souinds like you may have book a moderate in hign season.Rates can vary as much as $50 a night depending on time of year and resort. Check Disney web site to comapre prices.

You can also check out www.mousesavers.com. Mary publishes the 'rack rates' for different seasons, as well as (under FAQs) when and what type of discounts have been available.

Oops! I forgot to say that I booked the room in the Port Orleans Riverside Resort for October 19-26. Does Disney ever run specials on rooms during this time of year? I did everything myself last year and we stayed in the POR in May for 139.00 a night. That's why I was wondering if $157.00 was a good rate. I'm relying on AAA this time. I feel that I'm not as in control as I was last year when I was doing my own research. Thanks for your help!
