Don't want to hire a car, what is the next best option for two people to get from LAX to DL (and back)?

There have been a couple of threads on this, which you can search for.

What is more important to you: low price, or speed in getting to the parks/your hotel?

Low price: take Super Shuttle. Just exit the terminal and stand by the curb. They love to pick up business! Downside, you will probably see a lot of the areas between the airport and the resort, if it's just the two of you. Cost is ~$16-18, not including a tip.

Speed of transport time: Hop onto limos.com and ask for quotes. I got one recently for $79, one way. Split between two passengers, that's almost $40 each, tip not included. You will probably be at your hotel w/in 45 minutes, depending when you arrive and make it out to the curb.

Others: If you are staying at one of the resort hotels, you could take the Disney bus. Some people don't like the fact that you can't see out the windows well. You pay at the DLH -- I think $18 or 20. Drawback: The bus only runs at certain times during the day.

I have heard that cabs cost about $100 one way for a noncommute trip. Does not include tip.

Have fun!

Actually the LOW price is the Disneyland Resort Express Bus, also known as the Airport Bus..

http://graylineanaheim.com/airport_info.cfm

$14 each way if you buy a round trip in advance.

The benefits, the bus makes one trip around the airport then goes directly to the Disneyland Hotel, and then the other hotels in the area. Nice Airplane style seats and a restroom in the back if you need it.

As compared to Shuttle Vans, which many times will go to residential areas to drop off locals on the same van before taking you to the Disneyland area. Also, the vans try and cram as many people as possible into a van, and will drive around multiple times around the airport to fill up the van with folks headed to Orange County.

To me, the Airport Bus is more "regular" and reliable than a Shuttle Van, where you take your chances, sometimes you are lucky, sometimes you are getting the tour of Garden Grove homes...

The Airport bus runs every 30 minutes most of the day, the schedule is at the link above...

If you are staying on property the Disneyland Express is nice since it drops you off at directly at the hotel with only a possibility of 2 other stops. Its kindof expensive but they have deals online. However, we never saw it once waiting for 45 minutes at LAX and finally decided to just take another shuttle. Supposedly it was supposed to come every 20-30 minutes. On the way to the airport it was quick and efficient

I DO NOT reccoment Shuttle Express as have had negative experiences everytime I have used them

The other shuttles are good, but can be spendy, hot and full of other passengers and can take forever to get to your hotel. Sometimes they are efficient, other times they are not and some seem more worried about getting the most money they can then seeing to your needs.

I have had alot of people tell me that they can get a taxi to their hotels in Anahiem for around $40...without Traffic...I would keep in mind the time of day you are arriving.

I personally reccommend the car as its usually cheaper, you can get yourself around where you want and you dont have to rely on others to get you to and from the airport. Online sites run a lot of deals, especially with AAA or the entertainment book.
