Are both tracks the same speed? I went on the matterhorn yesterday and it seemed slower than what I remembered,I was kinda disapointing, I was in the front and had the whole front seat to myself.

We asked a CM this question on our recent trip. We went on the right side and we thought it felt slower, but she said both the tracks are the same speed although she said the one on the left (as you stand in front facing the matterhorn) has a dip where the one on the right doesn't maybe making one side feel faster than the other.

I cannot comment on the actual speed of each side, but it seems to be the general opinion (and I agree) that the track layout on the Tomorrowland side is better. This may lend to the feeling that you are going faster. I also like that the water splash is the last thing you do before the final turn into the station.

I think that I've read that the Fantasyland side track is just a bit longer.

I second the information that the Fantasyland side is longer--the CM did mention that when we talked to her.

we always ride Left, last time Hubbie really wanted to ride right, because we never do...it was really disappointing the right side is SOOOO much more fun!

I don't know about faster but the right side seemed smoother to us.

This is probably our favorite ride, and we switch between sides, since we go on it at least twice every trip. The line goes really fast, so it's worth the wait. But I do think the left (Tomorrowland) side is a bit faster.
