In other words, don't get too attached to it.
When I heard about VFK, I was pretty sure it was an email-harvesting scam. I'm glad that it is at least turning out to be something legitimate. I hope they can figure out how to keep it up and running, but I kind of suspect the folks involved aren't really prepared for what is involved in running that kind of product.

Hi Jeff...I believe they are and they are saying they have a business plan that is solid and they will not just be around three years and bale.
I've talked to them on the phone and these are some motivated folks with a solid business already established and this a passioned sideline, that, as you can imagine is taking over every waking hour not devoted to the business. A very dangerious combination...Creative Geeks with kids.
This originally was being formulated to be a new platform for an insurance company's usage!
Those that I talked to were devoted parents and VMK players who are determined to carry forward not only the game play and style but retain the level of quality we all came to expect. BIG shoes to fill but in looking at the different worlds so far they are accomplishing the task beautifully.

So today is the second day of VFK. Today is definately an improvement over yesterday. I could actually get on the site. LOL. Anyways...it really COULD be a neat place. It definately is not VMK, but it will do for now. Can't wait to see it when all the bugs are worked out and you can actually have a friends list and change your appearance. Right now everybody is the same with guest titles. :p

Well, I just loaded up their website, and it is dreadfully slow. Let's hope their game is better.
And why are there no screen shots?

Beta Test means BETA TEST. Up and down,,,bugs being worked out...ability to accomodate twice as many players as VMK...biting off more than can be chewed...Beta Test of all systems...nothing is working to spec yet.
Making judgements after the Beta Test seems a good idea. 50,000 signed up as Beta Testers. 8,000 at a time have signed in during the brief periods when it is on line. Beta Test will be a long process as the game is hugely complex. Hopefully the dreams will pan out and it will all work.
Everybody's fingers are crossed. :-)
In other words, don't get too attached to it.
Hahaha. Yeah, $15 a month is cheap for my addiction hobby. Nine million users worldwide, my game ain't going nowhere. Woot!
Yours truly,

I kinda got bored already. Colors are a bit dull...characters somewhat ugly and it does lack the Disney Touch. Go and have fun though.
We moved to Club Penguin and remain with Webkinz for spare time haha's.

I keep hoping they'll improve the look of our characters, because, we are indeed ugly. So are our clothes. LOL!
That said, I'm enjoying seeing the changes, and many of the bugs crack me up. I love turning myself into a Barbie-sized character in Stonehenge, although it does take a lot longer to walk places and people keep stepping on me -- ha ha!
It will NEVER have the magic and appeal VMK had, because it has nothing to do with our beloved park. (Frankly, I STILL can't believe Disney pulled the plug on such an incredible game. What a waste.)
It's my impression that VFK opened earlier than expected to give the disappointed VMK players a place to go. I can see tremendous potential, but I think it will take a lot of time to make it fun. In any case, it's interesting to see a game in its Beta state. The staff is very visible, and incredibly friendly. That's nice.
Speaking of VMK, has anyone seen the site where somebody has "reanimated" VMK? You can pull up the screens from the map, hear the music, ride the rides -- there just aren't any characters. Of course, you can't access anything like your own rooms -- but you can sort of pretend you're back in VMK. I miss my little character...and all my stuff...
