California State Railroad Museum Foundation - 2002 Calendar of Exhibits

“The Happiest Train On Earth: Walt Disney’s Backyard Railroad” opens at the California State Railroad Museum. This exhibit will feature the 1/8” scale “live steam” locomotive and freight train that once ran around this famous showman’s own backyard, and helped him to visualize a much larger amusement park complex “surrounded by a train.” Additional supporting text and artifacts will help tell how trains influenced Walt Disney, beginning in his early childhood years and continuing throughout his lifetime. The exhibit continues through March 31, 2003
