Does anyone have any experience with the daycare here? I want to do a nice dinner or just the hubby and I, and I thought this might be fun for my kids to do while we eat. They are 11 and 9, so I am not sure if they are too old. Any help would be great thanks.:)

Pinocchio is for 5-12 yos. Its open 5-Midnight, and is available to GCH guests for reservations 2 months in advance, while PP and DLH guests can do same day reservations is space is available.

Another option is Fullerton Childcare. If you are comfortable, if they have a person with an AP, they can take the kids to the park while you have your date.

My kids went to Pinocchio's workshop last spring when they were 10 and 6 and both had fun. If it's on the same night fireworks are scheduled, they take them up to a special viewing area to see the show.

At the time, my DS10 thought their video games needed serious upgrading, but beyond that, he didn't complain. It was well worth it for us to have an evening in the parks child free.

Max went one night on our last trip over Thanksgiving week. Actually, you can make reservations no matter which onsite hotel you are using, it is no longer limited to GCH guests. He had a fantastic time, they get to pick what they want for dinner and they get to go up to the concierge lounge to watch fireworks. He did a lot of LEGO building and they played some board games, etc. If I remember correctly, it was around $12-14/hour. I actually ended up being done with my rides earlier than I had thought and almost went back to get him early, I thought I might be able to go up and watch fireworks with them from the lounge, but I didn't want to take that away from him if they wouldn't allow me to go along, so I just waited until fireworks were over to go get him. When I got there the person in charge said they absolutely would've let me come up for fireworks... so if you think you might be done in time, ask them before you go if you can go up and watch with them if you get back in time.

We are getting close to our vacation and are so excited but I was wondering if anyone has ever done the Pinocchio's Workshop at the GC Hotel. Just want to know the experiences.

Although prices have changed since the article was written, Adrienne Krock did a write-up on it with photos (click here (http://www.mouseplanet.com/akrock/ak010706.htm)).

I considered it for our trip last week, but I decided against it. I would've liked to take dh to dinner, but the cost of Pinocchio's was $13/hr per child, which would have cost me $78 for 2 hours, not counting purchasing a meal for them. With 1 child it's doable, with 3 it's too much money--for me, anyway. Add on a dinner for dh and me at a restaurant and it went WAY over my budget.
