Any good tips on which Miniature Golf course to play @ WDW? We can probably only visit once. I have heard good things about Winter/Summerland. Any comments appreciated!

The holes are really fun, you should have a good time there! anniedg 05-17-2008, 05:58 AM Winter/Summerland is a lot of fun. We like both sides, probably slightly prefer Summerland. We also love Fantasia Gardens. It's two sides are completely different. One is based on Fantasia and is a lot of fun also. The other, the Fairways course, doesn't have the typical mini-golf statues, ramps, and such. It's the hardest mini-golf course we've ever done. We loved it, but it's not a good choice if you're going with younger kids. It does depend on the ages who are playing, I guess if I was going with younger kids I'd go for Summerland if I could only do one. I think my teen/twenties boys prefer Fantasia Gardens. Ohthatjeff 05-17-2008, 10:56 AM Based on the ages (12&16) you give in another thread, I would probably suggest Fantasia Mini Golf and more specifically the Gardens (easier) course. If you have the time (45min+ for fairways) and would like a real challenge, there's a reduced rate for playing both courses. In addtion, it's a short walk to the Boardwalk and two wonderful ice cream shops. Personally, I found Winter/Summerland to be an extremely poor value at the price. As a bit of a mini-golf junkie, I would rate it as one of the least impressive that I've played in the Orlando area. I'm not sure what you're doing for transportation, but if you're renting a car and want something close, you'll find Pirates Cove Mini-golf just down the road from Downtown Disney at the Crossroads. For a comperable price to Winter/Summerland, I would rate it as a better set of courses. (On our recent trip, we played both Pirates Cove and Fantasia and skipped Winter/Summerland altogether.) petesimac 05-17-2008, 08:13 PM Fantasia Fairways, hands down. Such a great and fun challenge; I can't wait to go back and try it again! aristodemus 05-19-2008, 08:26 AM I had a great time playing on Fantasia Gardens as well. AnnieOkie 05-19-2008, 02:44 PM Thanks so much for the input, gang!! stan4d_steph 05-21-2008, 04:14 AM Mark Goldhaber did a review and photo tour of Fantasia Mini Golf back in 2006. Here's a link (http://www.mouseplanet.com/articles.php?art=mg060412mg). petesimac 05-21-2008, 10:40 AM Yeah, that's the fun/easy side; does anyone have photos of the Fairways course? I can't wait to play it again next year!!! AnnieOkie 05-22-2008, 12:54 PM Looks like Fantasia Gardens it is!!! I am aware there is a Pirate's Cove down the road, but we have been to one in Branson, MO and would like to go to a Disney establishment. Andrew 05-28-2008, 02:44 PM Fantasia Gardens (the "fun" side) hands down. They're open 'til 11 PM every night and it makes a great late-night activity for arrival day, when you don't want to burn a park entry. If you don't have a car, take a taxi -- the alternative is a bus from your resort to Downtown Disney, a bus from there to the Swan and then a longish walk. The staff at the course will happily call you a cab when you're done playing. |
