, did you get hurt enough to let a CM know??
My mil fell and shattered her elbow, broke her arm on this one. I heard they were supposed to take the curbs out for a smoother exit after wishes. Anyone?

Can't say I've got anything to add about curbs, but OUCH! Poor mil! That'd sure ruin my vacation! My sympathies.

Last summer I was there with my mother and she fell. As we were leaving she was about to step up on the curb and was pushed by someone and she ended up tripping on the curb. When she fell she hit her check on the ground (ended up with a nice bruise on her face). There was a CM near by and they were really nice. They got her some ice from one of the nearby carts. If people would just slow down for a minute and watch what they were doing things like this would not happen. Is it really necessary to be the first one to the buses? Luckily my mom was okay and we were still able to enjoy the rest of our trip...but in the future we will definitely not stay for the fireworks...it just isn't worth it.

I fell in that exact same place, but it was my own fault. We were hurrying to exit before the parade was over and I was carrying my neice (who was really too big to carry) so that she could see some of the parade. Well I tripped just where the curb was starting to go up. Out of nowhere, and seeming like immediately, we were surrounded by cast members. I remember one CM looking back and above the stores at the spotlight(it was at night) that was pointed at that spot, and confirming via walkie-talkie that the light was indeed working properly. I thought that that was really interesting, it must happen quite a bit. Well, we were only scrapped up a little, but the CM's were asking if we needed to be wheeled out on a gurney to recieve further treatment!! I was already embarrased enough thank you!! They gave my neice some juice and we went on our way. All of the CM's were really great.

I've tripped on the curbs a lot. Especially when its at park closing and everyones heading to the exit. It might just be because I'm clumsy though :p

While I'm sorry that folks have been hurt, c'mon, it's a curb, people. Same as you'd find anywhere else in the country. I can't see any reason that Disney should have to oops-proof every single inch of their parks. My mother could trip on a piece of gum on a flat pavement, but she never blamed anyone but herself for her clumsiness.

Good point.

We usually leave during Wishes and I have my DS on my shoulders as we walk out...in an attempt to have him see as much as possible while we leave and me sneaking peeks here and there I too have stumbled off of the curbs....however, when I do it I do it on purpose because I am cool and am no clutz at all...so I guess I have never tripped on a curb at Disney before :D
