Ok I know we just got home from the Magic Kingdom, but I am addicted so sue me, lol. Planning a trip for December and I really need some help.

We are looking at either the week after Thanksgiving, or two weeks after, which do you think would be better? Also, going to be multi location, Jet blue has airline tickets into san dieago for $99 ea, and out of Long Beach for the same price so we will fly into San Diego on Saturday and drive from SD to DL on Monday afternoon or Tuesday morning, spending 6 days at the Magic Kingdom.

Is 3 days enough time to do San Diego properly? Going to Sea world etc, where would you stay?

Looking at HOJO's for DL being as our recent anabella experience was so dastardly, unless DL has another AP special for the dates we are going, as far as a rental car goes, do they charge more to rent in San Diego and drop off in Long Beach? Ive never tried this and if so I will change the plans accordingly/

Any help you can offer is greatly appreciated :)

Three days is not enough to do San Diego (but of course, I love the city, so I am biased). What a great deal. As for SD hotels, it depends on what your price point is and where you want to be. There is a good thread on the topic here:

Cool, thank you. Not really sure what there is to do in San Diego other than the zoo and Sea World, so I have much to plan before December.

Okay, first about San Diego:

The zoo is located in an area called Balboa Park. This park also has many museums and other activities, including live outdoor organ concerts on Sundays. It's a beautiful park, with lots to do. I think the zoo is an all day thing, because it is so big.

Balboa Park is just north of the area called the Gaslamp District. This is a historic area with lots of interesting buildings (I went into a hotel that was converted from a bank. You can go look at the old vaults with the gigantic steel doors which have been converted to conference rooms), tons of wonderful restaurants.

The area where Sea World is at is called Mission Bay. Again, lots of recreational opportunities. Nearby is a restored amusement park called Belmont Park. They have an old wooden roller coaster there. The Plunge is a gigantic indoor heated swimming pool.

Then outside of San Diego is the Wild Animal Park, and in Carlsbad, there is Legoland.

I would look at a guide book to San Diego, because there is so much to do. That way you can tailor your trip to the things you like (besides DL, of course!! :D)

Now as to rental cars...I have done "one-way" rentals where I've picked up at one locale and dropped off at another. There is definitely a premium charged for doing this. I would suggest checking with AAA about deals you can get from rental car companies.

Here's a fun idea...rent a car for your time in San Diego (you may want to add more days). Return it and take the train up to Anaheim. It's a beautiful trip and I'm sure a one-way fare would be reasonable. Then, you could either rent a different car or do taxi/shuttle to the airport.

Lots of options. If you want specific recommendations about San Diego once you've narrowed your choices down, let us know.

Enjoy planning your trip!
