Has anyone eaten here since it became a buffet? We have ADRs there for our AK day at 4:50 & I cannot find many reviews. The lady who took my ADRs recommended it. I don't want to waste a table service on it if it's not that good. Any comments will be appreciated. Thanks:)

Did you try a search on "tusker house?" I found this thread from January that has some reviews (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/showthread.php?t=90762&highlight=tusker+house).

Yes, we ate there a couple of weeks ago. We took a chance about 11:30 and walked up to the podium and asked about availiability. The hostess looked at me and said would a 10 minute wait be too much and smiled.

Now you must admit that all food reviews and dining experiences are a very subjective thing. Some like chocolate some strawberry and some neither.

Our lunch was very good. They only seem to put out a limited amount of each item. So you do not have these massive pans sitting over a steam table forever. Everything I tried seemed very fresh. There are a lot of different items, different to me at least. Seafood stew, chicken curry, and lots and lots of other items that I have not had before. At least not with this type of preparation. There was an excellent pork loin that was being carved. There were also a couple of other items on the carving area that I do not recall. Also at the carving area they had several different sauces for your meats. There were several different cold salads that were good. A lot of different vegtables and new presentations. I tried a little bit of a very lot of things and did not find a single item that I did not appreciate. There were some things that I liked less than others but I find that true on any buffet.
They also had a kids area with old favorites such as mac & cheese, etc for the less adventuresome. The desserts also looked very good with a pretty goov variety there also. None of the fancy stuff like Bomas' Zebra Domes etc but nice neverless.

Also the price was as good a value as anything you will find at Disney, at $20 it was a a steal, at least by Disney standards. Oh darn I almost forgot. There was some cut up chicken pieces, that were some of the best I have ever had. It must have been Rotisserie Chicken that had been marinated in something different. Wow was it good.

Now that is just my take on the place, your experience may vary. I would eat there again myself without hesitation.

We had dinner at Tusker House in January. We liked it very much. The park was packed that day, but the Tusker House wasn't. Our reservations were at 5:00, which I think was the same time the park closed. It was a more spacious atmosphere than other WDW establishments, and the food was fresh and good. Next to Boma, it's probably now our favorite WDW resturaunt. And as some of my other posts will attest, I'm not a big fan of Disney buffets.

As an aside, it was really neat walking through the closed, dark park in the rain after we left. Kind of surreal.

I'll agree with jtn and runner110. We went for lunch, and really loved it.

I am looking into possibly going here and breakfast is not an option. We like to grab quick for breakfast instead of wasting the am.So does anyone have input if there selections are better at dinner and what is the deal with eating here if the park closes earlier that night. Is dinner still served later?

We had breakfast there a few weeks ago. I thought it was good. Not my favorite character breakfast but not my least favorite either.

We ate there for lunch in May and loved it. We are going back for dinner in December.

My children love the jungle juice they serve for breakfast. Can you get jungle juice at lunch/dinner?

Just ate at breakfast at the Tusker House on Thursday. The buffet was excellent with just about every breakfast choice that we could have desired. There was plenty of sausage, bacon and eggs... staples that I require. There was plenty of fruit, cheese, pastries and of course the Mickey Waffles that my six-year-old daughter really demands for a breakfast.

The buffet is laid out with a lot more space than most of the other buffets that we ate at while we were in Disney. This tends to make it look less crowded. I skipped the juice as I needed my coffee but my darling daughter said it was "Yummy!"

Character interaction was great. Donald, Mickey, Daisy and Goofy were all there and made the rounds. Overall, we were very happy with this choice of dining. Personally, I still like the old location better. The safari in the expanded Airstream trailer was pretty neat.

On a side note... The front of this building is the best place in the Animal Kingdom for watching the parade. There are chairs for the adults to sit in a real plus by 4:00 PM but here's the secret; The parade passes this location twice... Psst, don't tell everyone.
