We are trying to plan our 1st trip to WDW in October or November. We really like to hang out in the pool and relax so I need help from those of you that have been before. The kids are 11 and 5. I am on a budget so it would have to be from the moderate on down level. Maybe there is a deal going, I'm not sure yet.
Thanks in advance.

Our favorite is the pool at Coronado Springs.
We also really enjoy the Jaguar slide.
They also have several quiet pools.

On one occasion we had a wonderful time sliding with a group of guests. The ages ranged from elderly to toddler and everyone was having a fabulous time.

In the moderate and value categories we've stayed at POR and POP. IMO POR wins hands down poolwise. We stayed in the 50's building at POP and the pool there is themed like a bowling pin and is just fine, but no slides or anything. We didn't try either of the other pools at POP.
The main pool on 'Ol Man Island at POR is great, a lot more theming and a fun slide. There's also a nice snack bar at the pool where you can get something to eat and drink. If the main pool gets too crowded there are some "quiet" pools spread around the resort. They don't have slide, but are still nice. I think the better pools are one of the reasons you pay more at a moderate. The one at Coronado Springs sounds great!

I am personally fond of the pools at Port Orleans Riverside. Went there the first time and have returned 2 more times. I have also stayed at POP and the pool was ok very plain. The pools (7 of them) at Riverside are nice pools and the main pool is great and located in the middle of the complex on it's own island. It also has hot pools and a shallow kids pool. I don't think that the value resorts have hot pools.

We also have stayed at Riverside and loved the main pool and our quiet pool. We didn't care much for the main pool at CBR but it is being refurbished, it might be better when they are finished. We have also stayed at ASM where the pool is large but just a simple pool. If budgets allow, we will always stay moderate and one of the reasons is to have better pools.

If you stay at POFQ or POR you can use both of the themed pools, which are both great, whichever side of the resort you are at. This struck me as good value. No slides at the Values.

there are no slides in value resorts, but my favorite value resort pool was at All Star Sports. It's nice and big, ive stayed at music and visited movies and my favorite was this one. Right near the food court and laundry too.

Hey there!
If you can swing a moderate, then go with it.
Besides the pools being better all around (IMHO), I think the resorts overall have more to offer. The rooms are bigger (260 square feet at the values vs. 314-340 in the moderates), the rooms in the moderate have a privacy curtain between the dressing area and the sleeping area, and the bus stops to the parks are covered so you are not exposed to the elements (like the Florida sun).
If you do go with a moderate and you are looking for the best pool, go with Coronado Springs.
Whatever you choose, have a wonderful trip!
