So it's available at all the resorts right? Do they still charge for it and if so how much and how is it packaged, per day?

WIRED is available in the resorts - I think it's in the $10-15 per 24 hour range (I think it's closer to 10, but it's above 10).

This may be slightly off topic, but what do people do with their laptops when they're not in the room? I see lots of posts about WIFI access, but I can't imagine leaving a laptop unsecured in a room, and I sure can't see lugging it around the parks.

If you have a smaller computer, you can fit it in the in-safe room.

I generally just put it either in a drawer underneath stuff, or in the case, with the case inside my larger suitcase. There was a thread about this on the DL forum recently here (http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/showthread.php?t=96554)

I've always left it out on the table, hooked up and running, and have never had a problem. I don't think I'd do that in some other hotels, but Disney hotels just seem safer to me.

If there's a safe and it will fit my laptop, I'll use that. Otherwise, I'll use a cable lock and wrap it around something that looks secure -- usually a closet bar or table leg. And sometimes I just leave it in the laptop bag, tucked unobtrusively to the side of the bed. Never had a problem, at Disney or non-Disney hotels.

We've done this too- and at all 3 hotel types.

If I have a laptop with me, it's my work computer, so I always lock it down or put it in a safe when I leave for the day. Since it's not my property I take more precautions.

If there is no room safe, I leave it locked in the truck of the rental car. I could never leave a laptop out and open, maybe they are becoming common enough that this is safe, but I know I would not be able to enjoy myself during the day.

Obviously most of the time I put it in the car, the car is going to be moved. If I really need to put it in the car and not move the car, I tend to wrap it in something that doesn't look valuable like a sweatshirt.

I appreciate all of the feedback. My laptop would be for work and would have some law enforcement data on it, so I couldn't leave it unsecured. And a cable lock is too easy to break off.

I can't imagine how folks are putting a laptop in a room safe in a WDW resort. I could barely fit my Blackberry, let alone a laptop. Maybe the deluxe resorts have bigger safes?

The room safes are much bigger than average. The normal sized laptop will indeed fit in one (just the laptop, no bag). I have a big screen laptop, though, so no luck for me.

I can't wait to leave my lap top behind when I go on holiday (!), but I don't think it would have fitted into the safe a POFQ where we stayed though. Quite a big screen though, so a small one may have squeezed in.
